Tom Tancredo after SDS Left the Building

Tom Tancredo’s speech on April 26th was interrupted by a mass exodus of students in a prearranged display of their opposition to his appearance. Their point was lost on the people who remained since their assertion that illegal aliens are not illegal makes no sense. As usual, no discourse is allowed in their world: they are right and there is no need for any debate. Read more »

Mobile Field Force vs. Grandmother?

When Obama went to Quincy, Illinois, patriots came out to show their displeasure with his policies. The police must have felt overwhelmed by this threat and call out a mobile field force to put down the out of control grandmother? Read more »

What We Forgot about the Raleigh Tea Party

The second April 15th Tea Party in Raleigh was well organized and attended. How well organized? Laura Long from Triangle Conservatives Unite had only ten days to prepare for this event. NCFreedom had permits to have the Tea Party at Halifax Mall (where no one could see us), so what happened? The Office of the Governor got caught is what happened.

The original permit request for this event at the Capitol was submitted by Laura Long and denied. NCFreedom submitted a permit request and was also denied. The reason was that the Capitol was reserved by the museum for a week long earth day event. For people who are sentient, earth day is this week, not last week. When questioned about this permit and its history, the office of the governor saw the consequences of its actions when no event would be seen at the Capitol on the 15th and decided to issue the permit to Laura Long.

So what did we forget? There was no other event at the Capitol last Thursday for the museum. The controversy over Rule 16 banning flags at the Tea Party overshadowed the fact that the people in Raleigh were denied a permit for a Tea Party by the Office of the Governor of North Carolina. So we have to ask ourselves, who at the governor’s office is limiting the activities of the people’s right to free speech? We also have to ask ourselves why are they trying to suppress the Tea Party movement?

Flag Ban Suspended in Raleigh

The official announcement from the Office of the Governor of North Carolina concerning the banning of flags at the Tea Party on April 15th in Raleigh is shown below. Rule 16 is still in effect but it is suspended pending a review. NCFreedom’s position was to fly flags on flag poles and force the issue under the following state law at the Tea Party: Read more »

Flag Ban at the Raleigh Tea Party

If you do not live in Raleigh, you may not know that there are special police forces with their own jurisdiction and regulations. In addition to the Raleigh police, State police and sheriff, we have Capitol and General Assembly police. The Capitol police patrol state property such as the Capitol Building where we are having our Tea Party on April 15th. This in itself is another long story but the point is that this property is under the control of the Office of the Governor who has a distinctly anti-patriotic view of our activities.  Read more »

Healthcare Housecall – Urgent call to Action!

Rep. Michele Bachmann is holding a press conference this Thursday, November 5th on the Capitol steps in Washington.  She wants all freedom-loving patriots to be there at noon.  The press conference will be followed with visits through all the congressional office buildings to find and speak to our representatives and let them know we are NOT happy, at all, with the actions of Speaker Pelosi and the contents of the new version (1900+ pages) of the House Healthcare bill.

http://health.burgess.house.gov/UploadedFiles/House_HCR_bill.pdf

Patriots across NC are stepping up, have vehicles available for a day trip to DC, leaving early Thursday morning (see main page for details) in order to be on the steps of the Capitol at noon.  If we get enough people, we may just get a bus.  Right now, we’ve got enough vehicles with seats to accommodate another 2 dozen people, more are being added daily.

Take a sick day from work, to fight this government takeover  of our healthcare, which will surely bankrupt the country, not to mention destroy the best healthcare system in the world- even though it DOES need some reforms.

To sign up for a ride, or offer a vehicle, or just get more info, contact your local KTM leader, or leave a comment here including your location and we’ll have someone contact you to help with your arrangements.

Be able to tell your grandchildren that you did everything possible to save their freedom!  Join us on Thursday to have our voices heard, before the vote on this bill.

Rolling Tea Party – Lessons Learned

Our first Rolling Tea Party is done.  We had at least a dozen vehicles that we know of circle Raleigh.  During our root, we got many horn honks and thumbs up in support.  Of course, we also got some bewildered looks.  We also stormed the Mexican embassy, but that’s another story.

Halfway through the route, we took a pit stop and discussed any event and talked about things we had learned so far about doing a Roling Tea Party.  Here is our bullet pointed list:

  1. Have a Starting Point
We had two starting points, which were last minute decisions.  Having one starting point so that everyone can help out decorate and feel a little more easy about driving around with slogans on their car is probably the best idea.
  2. Pre-Event Flag Flying/attaching/rigging Lessons
Since not everyone is familiar with how to attach a flag to their vehicle, some lessons before the event would be helpful.
  3. Pre-Event Signs Made for Inside Vehicles
It was decided that pre-made printed signs on the inside of the vehicle were the most easily read and didn’t run when it rained.
  4. Honk For Support Signs
To let people not in the Rolling Tea Party know what they are supposed to do, some “Honk if you support us” signs would also be helpful.
  5. Video Vehicle
Since it is hard to take pictures of the caravan while driving, it would be good to have one car drive ahead and let a camera person setup to take pictures of video of the group rolling.
  6. Stop for Food and Bathroom Break
While it would be preferred that everything be taken care of before hand, it probably is a good idea to have a middle stop at a gas station or a parking lot close to a place for food and bathroom breaks
  7. Avoid Stop Light Cameras
Because of the nature of the Rolling Tea Party, there is a habit of running lights.  It would probably be best not to have the route go through any intersections with red light cameras
  8. Lead Fast Through Stoplights, Then Slow Down
To help avoid cutting the group off at a stop light, vehicles should move through stoplights quickly and then slow down after going down the next street to allow others to catch up through the light.
  9. Avoid Consturction Areas
This is only to prevent any rerouting that might split up the group or get an individual vehicle lost.
  10. Lead, Middle and End Vehicles Need Communications
If all attempts to keep the group together fail, there should be some sort of communication between the lead, middle and end vehicles to help coordinate efforts to bring the group back together.  CB or Walkie Talkies are probably the best devices to have.

Of course, the most important point is to get even more people to show up.

Upcoming Events

1. October 17th is Operation Can You Hear Us Now.

North Carolina’s first shot has been fired by the Asheville Tea Party group in the Western Region. Click here for more information. Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Wilmington will also be actively supporting this protest.  We want every region in the state to sponsor this nationwide effort to bring the media’s complicit behavior into the light. Update your region’s site for your events.

2. A new concept for tea parties has been developed by Bubba McDowell: Rolling Tea Parties. To this end, NCFreedom is launching a sister site: http://www.rollingteaparty.com. We also have a RollingTeaParty Twitter site. Our first rolling tea party will be in Raleigh on October 10th starting at noon: see more details at Rollingteaparty.com. If you like this concept and want to have your own, email David@rollingteaparty.com and we will post it.

3. Mark October 15th on your calendar. The Triangle Region of NCFreedom is hosting another town hall in Raleigh at 7:00 PM. This Cap and Trade Town Hall at the Lighthouse Convention Center will have experts in the electrical utility field as well as an expert in trade giving short presentations on the effects of this legislation if it passes the Senate. Bring your pens and paper if you want the real story on this new consumer tax. The second hour of the program will allow the audience to ask questions from our panel of experts. If you plan to ask a question, please write it down prior to the town hall. Any organizations who want to co-sponsor this event can contact us by October 10th before we print the programs.

The first town hall will be on local television in the Raleigh area. The schedules will be posted shortly. Send an email to David@NCFreedom.us for more information.

North Carolina has been divided into regions in order to coordinate our efforts more effectively. Each region will have a steering committee composed of leaders from different groups. The steering committees will coordinate with the other regional steering committees to allow better organization and communication. Each region’s steering committee will also be completely responsible for their regional website. We need leaders in the Southern Coastal (Wilmington and Morehead City) region and the Northern Piedmont (Henderson and Oxford) region to contact us to complete this new structure.

One of our first statewide efforts will be focused on the repeal of the new 1% sales tax. If our state has the money to fund the education of illegal aliens in our community colleges, they need to start cutting our oppressive state taxes and let us feed our families. Have you seen the price of a gallon of milk?

We want to congratulate every North Carolinian who went to the 9-12 march. This march in conjunction with Glenn Beck’s exposure of Acorn has led to what may be the beginning of the restoration of our country. Let’s see what new information will come from the refounders coming forward.
