Cary KTM – Dec. 16
We had 4 people in attendance for the KTM. The Wake County School Board meeting was being broadcast via WRAL and we listen to some of the speeches being delivered by the 70 people signed up to talk.
The group discussed our next steps based on our action items. Since the school board seems willing to go through with their campaign promises in an expedited manner, it doesn’t look like our action of helping them with information about ending the diversity based forced busing will be needed. We still want to work towards getting a better civics class taught in schools that focuses on the constitution.
An idea was created to give people action items to help retain and encourage members in the group. By giving goals and purpose, we can encourage those who want to do something, but don’t know what they can do. An Action Item list will continue to be expanded using the Google Docs method of sharing information.
The first item is to hand out pocket Constitutions. Each member should purchase at least 100 pocket Constitutions to hand out. A sticker will be created to add to the pocket Constitutions that would point to the NC Freedom and Triangle Conservatives Unite websites, so that people who received the Constitutions would know where to go to find the group and join in the action. The stickers should be available by the next KTM meeting.
Pocket Constitutions can be purchased via National Center for Constitutional Studies.
Purchasing 100 or more at a time provides the cheapest per item price.
