Triangle Region VHF Net

Purpose

To train NC Freedom members in skills needed to use amateur radio to coordinate activities and handle message traffic.

In times of emergency, to coordinate activities and handle message traffic within the Triangle Region of NC Freedom.

Net Script (draft)

This is (call sign).  The NC Freedom net begins in one minute. All stations please stand by.

This is (call sign) calling the Triangle Region North Carolina Freedom Net, calling the Triangle Region North Carolina Freedom Net.

This net meets every (day) evening on or about (time) local time. The purpose of this net is (explanation of purpose).

Your net control this evening is (call sign) and my name is (name). This is a directed net.  All stations are requested to address Net Control.

To check in please:

• call net control
• pause to listen for “doubling”
• if clear, give your call sign phonetically, followed by your name and location

At this time are there any stations with emergency or priority traffic only?  Please check in now.

If there is traffic, ask for someone to receive it.
If it is a short message, handle it right on frequency so others can hear how it is done.
If it a long message, have the sender and receiver move off frequency.
