Representative David Price in Holly Springs
Some observations on Representative Price’s Meet and Greet in Holly Springs.
1. When Rep. Price was asked who wrote the health care bill, he responded “hundreds of people”. When asked to name one, he asked who we thought wrote it. Several people answered in unison that the Apollo Group wrote the legislation. He told us that he did not know who that group was.
2. Rep. Price told the audience several times that we need to cut government spending. When asked why he then supported continued funding of Acorn, he did not reply.
3. When Rep. Price asked the audience what we wanted to do to control health care costs, we told him to enact tort reform, allow competition across state lines and to get the government out of our way. His response was that tort reform would not have a significant impact on the cost of medical premiums.
4. Rep. Price resorted to one of the lowest political tricks on two occasions: as Glenn Beck would say, he trotted out Sally Puffenstuff stories to justify the plan.
5. Rep. Price told the audience that the Community Reinvestment Act planned a minor role in the collapse of the country’s economy. It was the greedy banks who were at fault with “predatory loans”. When I pointed out that Pres. Bush tried to rein in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac on eight occasions starting in 2001 and that the man in charge of Congressional oversight reported their corrupt lending practices, he had no comment.
6. It is clear that Rep. Price will do everything in his power to pass health care which in his own words “has been in the making for fifty years”.
7. Rep. Price was asked several times when he would hold town halls like he did last year at this time. His answer: “I am always accessible”.
David Price did not offer one solution to our country’s fiscal crisis but he is completely aware of our country’s dire situation. We need leaders who have not been in Congress for 28 years perpetuating corruption and the enslavement of our children and grandchildren.
The Price is not right.

I was at that meeting, it took me about 5 minutes to understand clearly this man must go. He seems to think we have no knowledge of what is going on, in DC or with him. I hope we have some good people who are willing to run against him, I will help with thier campaigns.
David Price needs to go. Thiry years in the House with nothing to show is a disgrace. As far as Price's comments comparing the attendees' opinions to the opinions of people in South Durham, it shows that he is out of touch with his base. Southpoint is South Durham, Central Durham is his base where he buys votes at our expense.
David needs to got
